I couldn't believe it when my cousin's little baby Sara was turning 1. It seems like she was just born and now she is starting to walk and talk and having her very first birthday bash. I had to make an extra special card for her. I used one of the new edgelits die from Stampin Up! across the bottom of the top layer and I took the monkey from the stamp set Fox and Friends since she has a monkey theme in her room. I made the flowers with the Boho blossom punch and the sentiment came from one of the Sale-a-bration items available right now called Elementary Elegance. Need for Speed

Hello Everyone,

Remember me. I haven't posted anything in a month and it's because I'm always on my iphone and never on my computer anymore. I have to break that habit. I spent last night in my scrap room with my bestest friend Margaret. I made my nephew Jake's birthday card with the stamp set called Need for Speed by Stampin Up!. It's a great set for boys and since I have 5 nephews, I figured that it would be a smart buy.

I think that this is perfect for an 8 year old. The paper I used was crumb cake, old olive ds, chocolate chip and very vanilla. Added some silver liquid pearls (they look like metal) and the sentiment is for the Happiest Birthday Wishes (hostess) set.

Almost Happy New Year Everyone! I wanted to start off with some stamp news first, In December we finished our 2nd Stamp Club and If anyone is interested in starting up again I will need to know as soon as possible. We are looking for 6 people to do $25 per month for 6 months and each month someone new will be the hostess and getting the hostess benefits OR we can do 3 people to do $50 per month for 3 months or every other month and receive hostess benefits. Please let me know as soon as you can so that we can start in January. Other news, On January 4th Stampin Up! will be starting their Occasions Mini promotion. The new catalogs will be online and if you would like to get a hard copy, let me know and I'll mail you one.

Now on with the card. The feather stamp used in this card is from the Natures Nest stamp set. I like to take an image and turn it into something else and this is what I came up with. This is a single layer card that probably took about 10 minutes to make from beginning to end.

Post It note Holder for the fridge (great teacher gift)

Last night we had card club and I gave away this adorable post it note holder that also has a magnet on back so you can keep it on the fridge. I wrapped chipboard in some holiday paper and added the red ribbon. I also wrapped the binder clip in the same paper and the paper is also inside of the rsvp pen. It always looks nicer when everything coordinates. Last night's cards should be posted by tomorrow.

Masculine Card with my Scraps

This is a card that I made for my Husband's Birthday. I'm always saying that it's a challenge to make a masculine card because I don't get to use any of my pretty flowers and butterflies but I'm pretty happy with the way this one came out. I used the mosaic embossing folder on the piece of Night of Navy and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The leaves used is from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set from Stampin Up!. All of the other papers are just scraps, Card base-river rock, Top layer Misc. designer paper, and banner is certainly Celery. The sentiment came from one of our newest hostess sets called Birthday Wishes (I think???) and I added a little liquid pearls.

No Power, Yes Scrapbooking

This little bird is so cute. I love using stamp sets with coordinating punches. It makes it so easy and quick to make a card. We also made this one at last Friday's card club. We all enjoyed using some of Stampin Up's new stamp sets from this new catalog. My wish list is still very long but I managed to get my hands on a handful of new sets so far. I'm actually creating this post on Saturday the 27th because we are due to get hurricane Irene tomorrow and I'm sure that there won't be any power for a little while so I figured that I would set this up ahead of time.

I love using recyclable items in my cards. I use a page from an old Hardy Boys book behind this piece of vellum in this card. It was a real simple card and very easy to make at our card club. The ladies found it very easy to color in these flower from the old fast and fabulous stamp set using Q tips.

I thought that I would take my mind off of the upcoming hurricane and do a post today. Here's one of the cards that we made at Friday's card club. I've been wanting to do a lot of texture lately and I just love using these warm earth tones. We did some dry embossing with the ms scoring board for our background piece of crushed curry and crimped this piece of pumpkin pie for the center. This image is from one of the new hostess stamp sets in the Stampin Up! catalog. It's called Faith in Nature. We had back to back parties this weekend. My daughter Alex had her twin friends Hannah and Sarah's party on Friday night and then we had my 2 oldest daughters Hayley & Alex's party on Saturday. I remembered to take a photo of Sarah's card but not Hannah's. Oh well. Here it is. It features that cute little owl. We had so much fun playing with that punch at one of my card clubs that I wanted to bring it out again. The photo isn't the greatest but you get the idea.

Beautiful Wings

I can't believe that it took me so long but I finally ordered the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. It cuts out 5 different butterflies all at once. It's a must have if you loves butterflies as much as I do. I layered the 2 largest butterflies 3 times on my layered Wild Wasabi card stock. I also used the En Fracais background stamp with whisper white ink. It's a pretty quick card to make and the color combinations are endless.

Emboss Resist

Here's another new In Color. It's called Island Indigo. It's soooo pretty! We did the emboss resist using the flowers from the Inspired by Nature stamp set. Then we used my new color spritzer with the island indigo marker and added these little splatters all over my background. Cleaned my flower back off and then sponges the Indigo over one side of my card stock. I was pretty happy with how it came out. The spritzer takes a little practice but gives a nice touch if you just wanted to add a little color for texture.

Bleaching technique

I thought I'd share a card that we made last night at Card Club. We did the bleaching technique with this flower from the Fifth Avenue stamp set. We first embossed it in black and then used our aqua painters to color it in with bleach. I almost couldn't stand to have the bleach in the room because it's so strong so I only put a little bit into a sweet treat cup and everyone shared. I'm sure that we wouldn't have lasted long in my enclosed scrap room if I had more then that laying out. We used the new Calypso Coral card stock by Stampin Up!. At first I didn't think that I was too crazy about this color and now I have no more card stock left. It's moved right up to being one of my favorites.

A Rockin Birthday Card

Happy July everyone!!! I had a great day today at the beach with my sister and all of our kids. It was 96 degrees here today and it was so relaxing. I have created this card but my friend Rachel who has a birthday coming up. I wanted to make a card using some items from around the house. I ended up using a page from my daughter's old Hardy Boys book. It was a book that she didn't like and didn't even want to keep so I took it with me to my scraproom and went to work. I'm really pleased with what I came up with but I'm very sad that this stamp set (cheers to you) is retiring at the end of this month.

We got together for my monthly card club last night and we made some fabulous cards. We also had some great goodies to match. My friend Margaret brought over some chocolate covered strawberries that her and her daughter Zoe made for us and I served some sangria. It really got our juices flowing (at least we would like to believe they did. lol ). Here's a photo of the first card we made. I know that you can't see it in the photo but I sprayed the whole card with some champagne shimmer mist. It looked so nice in person.

Another Birthday Card

My sister Patty also had a birthday this month. I've been having so much fun with the Cheers for You stamp set. It's retiring at the end of this month so I'm so glad that I have it already. I may make another one of these for a friend who also has a birthday this month. It's super quick and easy to make but looking at the cocktail in the glass makes me want one and that strawberry looks so yummy!

My youngest daughter Ava turned 6 on Thursday. After she fell alseep the other night, me and my other 2 daughters went down to my scrap room to make her birthday cards. We always call her a little monkey so that's why I picked this stamp from the fox and friends set. I'm so sad that this jumbo wheel is retiring. It's called Classic stars and it makes a great background on cards or scrapbook pages. I also added Dazzling diamonds to the monkey's bellys. Hope you like it.

Here's another father themed card that I may be using next month for father's day. I'm not entirely pleased with this card because I couldn't seem to get the colors right. I used watercolor pencils and then blended it with blender pens. I colored and blended and colored again. I finally gave up. It will have to do.

Lovely as a Tree

As long as I can remember, I have loved this stamp set. It's a great set for making masculine card and even great Christmas cards. A father's day card would be perfect as well. I did a masking technique on this one using some photocopy paper and temporary adhesive. I embossed the trees on using versa mark and basic black just to make sure that they resisted the sponged ink. I can't believe that I have now made 2 baby cards in 1 week. They are just so stinking cute! I used all soft colors and the details were all girl. I think that I'll use this card for a Christening next month. I have listed the recipe for this card below the photo.

May Card Club

Baby Card

I don't know why I don't do this more often but today I went to my stamp room because my juices were flowing with inspiration. I wanted to make a baby card, I don't know why because I'm not going to a baby shower or anything but it's good to have one in my supply in case I need one. I wanted to create a scene so I started with this field of multi greens and then stamped these cute little bees and little bird. I also tried out my new champagne shimmer mist. Hopefully you can see it in the photo. It gave my card stock such a great shimmer all around. I'll list the recipe below the picture.

Who's ready for another card swap???

Well, Since our first swap was such a success, I figured that I would do another one. I think that a baby swap would be perfect for this time of the year. It seems that there are so many babies born in the spring and we are always in need of a baby shower card, new baby card or Christening card. It can be for boy or girl and be creative. The rules are similar to the demonstrator swaps.

1. Once everyone signs up, I'll let you know how many cards you need to make

2. You make all identical cards in 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (envelopes not needed)

3. Make sure that all of your layers are glued well and be sure that there are no smudges.

4. Please use Stampin Up! products so that they can easily be duplicated.

5. Cards will be due by May 13th. (our next card club)

6. If you can't attend card club that night. Be sure to mail your cards to my in a zip lock bag with a self addressed stamped envelope with the same postage as it took to mail them. I'll mail your swap cards back to you on May 16th.

Cracked Glass Butterfly

I really love the way this card came out. This butterfly was cut from my Sure Cuts Alot and all of the other materials used are from Stampin Up!. My sister-in-law Lucy asked me to bring back some of the older techniques that we've done at card club in the past to refresh her memory so I decided to do the cracked glass on the butterfly and did a layered accordian fold.

Plaid Ornate Blossom

I found this great new technique over at Dawn Olchefske's blog. It's so pretty and so simple. You do need to use a solid image stamp like this Ornate Blossom stamp in order for it to work. Stamp your lightest color all over your image, then you take your next color and use the edge of your stamp pad to create lines of color going across the image, then you take your darkest color and make your lines going in the other direction. Give it a little hot breath and stamp. No 2 will be the same and the combinations are endless.

April Card Club

April Card club

Attention Scrapbookers! April's card club is about scrapbooking. It will be on April 8th at 7pm. We will be making a 6x6 flip album. If you have been at my February or March cardclub, you already had a sneak peak of the album. The reason that I am sending this out so early is so everyone has plenty of time to pick out and develop the photos that they want to use. You will be able to fit up to 16 pictures. I will keep the papers neutral so that they go with most themes. You will also get a step by step instruction along with photos on how to create this album. Vintage Swap Card

I've joined my 2nd swap with fellow Stampin Up! demonstrators. I have to admit that this is getting a little addicting. It's a vintage swap so I'm really excited to see what ideas other people came up with. Here's a look at what I came up with. I used river rock card stock as my base. I layered the News Print designer paper onto basic black. The stamp set is called inspired by nature and I made some buttons for embellishment using the buttons #5 Sizzlet die. I really like the way this card came out and I hope the recipients do too. Happy Stamping!

Markis Turns 4

My cutie little nephew Markis turned 4 on Saturday. It seems like he was just born and now we were at Chucky Cheese watching him play like the big kids. Time is passing too fast. Well, I took so long to figure out what to do on his card because I really didn't have much in stamps for little boys. I remembered that I had an old clear set that I used once before for my nephew Jake. It was a set with monsters on it (and what little boy isn't a little monster once in a while) so I figured that I would try and do something with it. I was so pleased with the way it came out. I just love the Marina Mist cardstock and he just looks adorable covered in dazzling diamonds. Who says it just for girls anyway.

February's Card Club

By request, I have been asked if we could make the embellished candle that we never got to make in December's class. It got a ton of attention when I posted it for a December Card Club but it was a hard time of year for the regular girls to get together. We will make it a neutral floral design that would be great as some home decor around your own home or you can give it as a birthday gift or even duplicate for mother's day. We will also be making some cards that match to go along with it. The price of this class will be $15 to cover the cost of supplies needed. Starting at this card club I will need payment for the class in advance. Class is on February 18th at 7pm and payment is due no later than the 12th. Here once again is another Valentine's day card. I made these flower petals using the largest heart in the Heart to Heart punch. I am really loving the way this one came out. I also used the pinking heart border punch and the scallop sentiment is from the Love you Much stamp set. I worked this card around the great faux grass. It's a wonderful way to add some dimension to a card with just some card stock and a pair of scissors. Hope you like it.

Valentine's Swap Card

I've entered my very first card swap. I heard that it's very addicting but I thought that it would be fun and I can't wait to see what other people came up with. It's a valentine themed swap and I wanted to do some kind of technique for my cards so I did the faux silk technique. I made 6 of these same cards and am going to get 5 different cards back from other demonstrators. They should be arriving any day now.

Valentine's sweet treat pops

Here's another project that we did at our cardclub. It's using the sweet treat cups. They were so easy to make and I even found some red hots to put inside. I Loved these when I was a kid. I'll be making these for my daughter's kindergarten class next month for valentine's day. She so excited.

We finished off our card club with this card. It was a quick and simple single layed card. Even though it didn't have all the shimmer and glitter that the others had, I still got all the Ohhs and Ahhs when the girls saw it. I actually turned it into an Anniversary card for my parents. They celebrated 41 years yesterday.

Here's the 2nd card from our past card club. It has a different kind of a fold and I think that's why I wanted to try it. Here are the dimensions of the cuts in case you want to try it yourself.

Red cardstock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. Cut 1 1/4 off of one side.
Kraft cardstock cut at 6 1/2 x 4.
Embellish as desired.

With Valentine's day right around the corner, I made Friday night's card club all about LOVE. We made this great gate fold card. Everyone loved the red glitter chipboard. This stamp set called Love You Much has so many great stamps. We used it in 3 of our projects. I also used the jumbo stampin wheel I{Love} Love as a background pattern.

I've had this stamp set for about 3 months now and I'm just now using it for the first time. It's one of my favorites but I've been so into all the Christmas stamps that I haven't got to play with this one yet. Christmas Scrapbook Page 1999

Here's a page that I just made starring my oldest daughter Hayley. She was 15 month old and back then we didn't have digital cameras so we would have to take a whole roll of film just to make sure that we got at least 1 good picture for her Christmas card. Boy have times changed. She was so cute though and I can't believe that she's 12 now. I Love hopping around with my scrapbooking and not really going in order. I think that it's more fun that way.

Some Holiday items

When visiting with my friend Margaret last week, I noticed that she was making some teacher's gifts. It was an idea that I had seen a couple of years ago but totally forgot about until I saw them sitting on her table. They are adorable post it note holders. It's really nice to have by your phone. I put an RSVP pen with coordinating holiday designer paper inside. These are just black metal frames that I found at my local AC Moore store for about $1.49 on sale.

Here's a couple of really easy gift tags that I also made to attach to the neck of a wine bottle. They're made with cherry cobbler cardstock and I used the slit punch to make the clasp. I'm not sure if you can see it in the photo but I embossed the words Merry and Brite in silver on the front. I used fancy gold yarn that I picked up in the knitting dept. of Walmart to make the tie.

At last but not least, I used one of my fall stamp sets on this Christmas card. It's the very popular French Foliage. I saw this on Dawn Olchefske's blog. I thought that it was such a cute idea. I used Old Olive for the card base and wreath and Bravo burgandy was used to stamp the splashes and the ribbon.

Hope you got some quick and easy ideas for some last minute details.

I talked to some of you already about starting a stamp club in January. It's when a group of 6 people agree to purchase $25 worth of Stampin Up products by the 15th of each month and everyone will take a turn being the hostess for that month and get all of the hostess benefits (choice of a level 1 hostess set and $15 of free products). The commitment is for 6 months so that everyone has a turn being the hostess. We have 3 girls wanting to be part of it already and are looking for 3 more. Here's one of the cards that we'll be making at workshop. I just LOVE this set that I just got. It's called Jolliest Time of the Year. I'll be posting a photo of the money holder that I made using the Christmas tree also from this set tomorrow. I used a blender pen to color it in. I also used dazzling diamonds on the white part of his santa suit and hat but it didn't show up in the picture. It is so much nicer in person.

Scallop Circle Flower

Here is a card that I made to send out for a Thank you. I was playing around with some punched out scallop circles and was trying to figure out how to turn it into a flower. A few (hundred) punches later, I came up with this side profile flower. I loved it because it has some dimension and can be made in any size. We went to a surprise party for a family friend this past weekend. It was hard to believe that he was turning 60. I started to think of what I was going to do for his card because once again, I'm not the greatest with the masculine ideas for cards. I just got this new stamp set from Stampin Up's current mini catalogue called French Foliage (LOVE IT) and I knew that it would be perfect for a male card and it fits for this time of year. What a great set! I used bravo burgundy and pumpkin pie ink. I did the BAM! method on it. This is where you add your lighter color first then BAM it once into your darker color and then stamp. It gives it a nice 2 tone color. The combination was perfect. Hope you like it!

Another Birthday Card

Here's a picture of my husband's birthday card. I really didn't know where I was going with this one. I know it's a really bad photo. I had all kinds of crazy things in the background because I still haven't purchased a photo cube to take my blog pictures with. I Love making girly cards but when it comes to masculine cards, their just not fun for me. I used this old bamboo stamp that I bought from ebay a few years ago. I used really rust by SU and this designer paper also from SU in the same color. The card base is kraft by paper trey ink.

Bouncing Brayer Graduation Card

Here's another bouncing brayer card. They are so much fun to make and super quick. The background is full of color and design that you don't need to put too much embellishment on it. Today we are going to my nephew's graduation/college farewell party. I cut the graduation cap from my sure cuts alot and I used Marina Mist, Real Red & Night of Navy ink by SU. I also used a cuttlebug embossing folder with the scibbles around the edge of my die cut. If anyone is ever interested in the files that I cut out with the SCAL, just let me know and I can email it to you.

Fabulous Explosion Box

My cousin Teresa was turning 40 so I got her a pretty necklace and earring set for her birthday. I thought it would be great to make an explosion box to wrap it in. Her favorite color is green, so I made it green with a touch of pink to match her card. I figured that she could use it to put her party pictures in and it's already labeled for her 40th. She loved it!

My cousin Teresa is turning 40 this coming Saturday. I knew that I wanted to make a fabulous card because 40 is a very special birthday. I thought that this little lady from the Forever Young cricut cartridge would be perfect for her card and I used some more of that white glitter paper for the 40 that I picked up at Target for .99. This card is much larger then the A2 ones I usually make (5 1/2 x 8) so I had to think of a lot of fillers. I used the devine swirls on the pink behind the girl and the sentiment came from my usual mega mixed messages by paper trey ink. Hope you like!
